Samson Buffer

Product Description

Ahh, the age-old question. “Do I need a buffer… wait, what’s a buffer again?” For more info on this, check out the blog post we added about buffers here.

Now that you know what you’re looking for, I present to you the Samson Buffer. This little guy can do wonders with your guitar tone. Do you have long cable runs? Do you have a gaggle of true bypass effects pedals on your pedal board? Do you wonder why your tone sounds so different when you plug directly into your amp rather than running cleanly through your effects chain? The Samson Buffer is the answer to these questions.

Based on the infamous Pete Cornish buffer used by greats such as David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, the Samson Buffer is a small little circuit that will effectively recreate the tone going into it as the tone coming out of it. We call it the 1:1 ratio. The difference is that your guitar signal will have a much lower impedance giving it the strength it needs to travel through all those dark tunnels of cabling and pedals and safely reach your amplifier so you can be assured that the tone coming out of your pickups is the tone reaching the preamp stage of your amplifier.
